Hello, God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good.
I know it has been a while and I apologize in advance for the lack of communication. These last 7 weeks have been FULL, amazing, and challenging all at the same time. Entering a new culture and language can be overwhelming at times. It has been incredible to see how God has been working and I know He will continue to lead and guide. I have appreciated all of your prayer and support and will continue to update you on all the happenings here in Kenya. I have 4 main projects/needs that we are beginning to focus on here at Encouragement. At times, the list seems to grow and grow but I know that God has a plan and He will take care of each and every need.
Christmas playground: This year I want to give these kids the best Christmas SURPRISE ever! A PLAYGROUND! We are estimating this project to be around $5,000 to build a good size and durable playground. These kids are longing for movement and fun and I think this could be something that would light up their world! We can also use this playground as an outreach project to the community. The possibilities are endless and I would love to see this project through! Would you consider giving towards this amazing project?? We would like to begin building by December 1 so that by Christmas day the kids will be able to play on the playground!!
Washing machine: Right now our amazing cleaning lady washes all the laundry by hand. This can be an extremely tiresome and washing for so many people can take hours and hours. We would like to purchase 1 machine and it’s costs is about $800.
Incinerator: we have a HUGE trash issue here. During rainy season, trash cannot be burned easily because it will be come wet. The trash lays out and blows around the yard. We also have some issues of kids wanting to go through the trash to find “treasures”. We would be building a cement building with a chimney that could allow trash to go inside. The cost is around $800-$900.
Wall/gate: The front of Encouragement is on a very busy road and a lot of people traffic. We are wanting to build a wall to isolate our property. This will help with security and allow for more freedom around the compound. This is a costly project but a huge need. We have many people interested in knowing what is happening inside here with the kids and they also have so many needs too. ($5,000) The link is posted here and in the comments where you can click to donate on Paypal towards any one of these projects. Be sure to designate it accordingly If you would rather pay by check or pay bill, please contact me!!
I am excited to see how God will provide for these projects and will be sure to update you as funds come in. Click here if you would like to see photos and details of each project: https://katlynpollockkenya.wixsite.com/website/get-involved
