MEET MY ADVISORY TEAM

My advisory team will assist me in making sound decisions and will hold me up in prayer and support while I am in Kenya.

MATT AND ROSEMARY POLLOCK

Matt and Rosemary are my parents.  They have been so helpful to me in guiding and supporting me in life and ministry.  My Dad has been in Christian education for over 35 years and is currently head of school at Grace Academy in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  He has participated in foreign missions in a variety of ways, most notably on short-term trips to South Africa, London, Paris, Berlin, and Rome.  My Mom served and led children’s ministries in our local church for many years.  God used her to influence me very strongly in loving and teaching children.

KARISSA BOGER

Karissa is one of my college friends who has also traveled to Encouragement Children’s Home with me in 2012 and then again with another group in 2013.  She knows me well and has given me guidance and encouragement consistently.  She has direct understanding of the ministry to orphans in Webuye, Kenya and has extensive international life and ministry experience.  She and her husband, Bobby, along with their two children have lived in China, Hungary, and now in California.

DAVID PRAIRIE

Dr. David Prairie has been the youth pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Chattanooga since 2012.  I have served in his ministry in a variety of roles.  With numerous missions trip experiences and a deep commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, David committed to move into full-time, foreign missions in 2016.  He is married to Brandi and they have four children.  They are working to gain full support to serve in global theological education with ABWE.

CHRISTINA CARPENTER

Christina and I became good friends as we worked together in the preschool program of Grace Academy.  She traveled to Encouragement Children’s Home with me in 2015 and was so helpful to me when I was hospitalized with malaria.  She has been a steady support and advisor to me over these past few years.  She and her husband, Aaron have one child and live in north Georgia.

MEGAN THOMPSON

Megan and I have been teaching together at Grace since 2013.  She is a dynamic teacher and has shown wisdom with Godly insight for me.  It is her desire to travel to Encouragement Children’s Home and, in fact, was all set to go with me in 2020 until the Covid-19 pandemic thwarted our plans.

MAGGIE DEBERRY

Maggie and I met in college in 2010. We have had many life experiences together including our time ministering together as camp counselors in Bermuda in 2014 and Clarks Summit, PA in 2013. Maggie also taught ESL in South Korea from 2015-2017. She and her husband Jake were stationed in Hawaii and they are now living in Texas.

HANNAH JACOBS

Hannah and I first met in Kenya, Africa. We both have a passion for the children of Encouragement Children's Home. She has had a heart for missions since she was a child and has pursued the opportunity to go to the mission field herself. She has been to Webuye, Kenya twice before and continues to be involved in the children’s lives. Her heart continues to be burdened for the ministry and she has truly been praying for the opportunity to support and encourage a full-time missionary to go and care for these kids. She recently got married to her husband, Taylor in June 2020. She and her husband are now living in Florida with their sweet pup, Franklin.
